A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast.
The Scarlet Flower is a fairy tale about bravery, magic, and true love that can work miracles. It is inspired by the classic French tale Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête, 1740), in which a beautiful girl frees a prince from a monstrous curse.
A kind merchant brings gifts from distant lands for his three beloved daughters. The youngest daughter, Nastenka, asks for a beautiful scarlet flower. The flower grows in the garden of a monster who was cursed by an evil witch as a child. When the father picks the flower, he is forced to send Nastenka to live with the monster. But kindness and love save her father and break the curse, turning the monster into a handsome young man.
