Mexico’s state TV channel TELEVISION METROPOLITANA SA DE CV/CANAL 22 and Serbia’s biggest broadcaster RTS have purchased the rights for Russia Television and Radio’s new series, EKATERINA.

Russia Television and Radio’s distribution arm, SOVTELEXPORT, presented the historical costume drama “Ekaterina” to Mexico’s Canal 22 in October. Seeing its obvious potential, by the end of November the Mexican channel had already signed a deal to broadcast the series.

The film about the greatest Russian Empress of German origin shot by Amedia Production LLC and released by TV CHANNEL RUSSIA this November gained the highest  results and became the most successful TV series of the season in Russia.

Several Serbian distributors also showed an interest in the series, which is based on the life of the Russian empress Catherine the Great. Continuing its productive collaboration with RTS, SOVTELEXPORT has granted the screening rights to RTS 1 and RTS Digital.
