THE LOST SUBMARINE K129

Toward the end of February 1968, the Soviet diesel powered submarine K-129 went on a surveillance mission towards the Hawaiian Islands armed with nuclear missiles. On March 8th , all communications with the submarine were lost. Why did the K-129 sink? Why did the Soviet high command never issue a search?
