Leading Latin American distributor, Smilehood, showed top Russia Television and Radio series to international TV buyers during the global TV market in Los Angeles.

Sovtelexport’s partner, Smilehood, presented a line-up of strong female-character dramas at the LA Screenings last month. “Anna Karenina” and “Ekaterina” made the biggest splash. "Anna Karenina" is based on a lavish new adaptation of Tolstoy’s famous novel. While beautifully portraying the classical love triangle, it also explores events after Anna’s death for a new take on the story. “Ekaterina” (seasons I & II) – the award-winning series about private life of the great Russian Empress – generated a significant number of inquiries from multiple buyers. 
“Russian Beauty”, “Born to Be a Star”, and “Janissary” completed the lineup of dramas based on powerful and famous women.
