Days after the Germans attack on the USSR, the Red Army had lost thousands of tanks, planes and guns. While the selfless heroism of Russian soldiers knew no bounds, they still could not fight against the military colossus of the Third Reich with bare hands alone. The Allies stepped in. In 1943, they began shipping military equipment through the Lend-Lease Act. Getting these armaments to Russia past the German blockade wasnt easy, but President Roosevelt came up with a perfect plan to evade the Third Reich.
