FATHER PYOTR
This is the story of an ordinary Orthodox priest, known simply as "Father" in the region of Ukraine torn by war.
Father Pyotr is a spiritual guide and peacemaker who believes that true borders lie not on maps but in peoples hearts.
He cannot stop the conflict, but he does everything he can to support those who sufferboth civilians and soldiers on the front line. He gathers humanitarian aid, builds little chapels in the trenches, baptizes and gives communion to soldiers, and prays for their lives.
He even prays for the enemies, hoping they remember that before God all are equal Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and Christians.
In times like these, prayer becomes the only hope for salvation and a way to lift the human spirit.
Father Pyotr also runs a small farm, a shelter for lonely elderly people and wounded soldiers, and slowly begins restoring churches destroyed by war, places where people will one day return to a peaceful life.
