In August 1941, Hitler declared, If Id known that Russia had so many tanks, I would not have started this campaign. Germanys military intelligence organization Abwehr had very limited knowledge about the Soviet Army, Soviet plans for mobilization and the extent of the countrys industrial and scientific might. Because of Abwehr failure, Germany lost the war.
