THE BATTLE FOR STALINGRAD
The battle for Stalingrad was one of WWII’s greatest – two hundred days of Hell on Earth. German air attack practically leveled the city the first day, killing forty thousand civilians. But that didn’t stop Soviet soldiers from defending every inch of their territory. Over and over, the Germans tried and failed to capture a strategic building-turned-fortress, the now legendary Pavlov’s House. Once the Soviets prevailed in 1943, two millions soldiers from both sides had lost their lives.
