At DICM 2023 (November 22-23), Russia TV and Radio captivated Middle East buyers with a dazzling showcase of new content.

The lineup was headlined by costume dramas "Chaliapin", "Elizaveta" and the latest season of the historical saga "Ekaterina" -"Ekaterina: Favorites". The spotlight was on a lineup of high-end melodramatic series.

During the event, approximately 40 meetings were held with broadcasters and distributors from the Middle East, India, Africa, Turkey, and China. Agreements were successfully reached with Dubai TV and Dubai One, securing the platform to showcase two short melodramas and the large-scale "Chaliapin" series, dubbed in Arabic.

A package of documentaries exploring the wonders of nature and outer space, featuring titles like "Country of Birds" and "Space Flight" is currently under consideration for licensing in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Jordan. Notably, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has greenlit a selection of documentary films for broadcasting on the Pakistan's first-ever documentary channel.

The Jordan broadcasting network Arab Media Network, expressing keen interest in acquiring a diverse lineup of documentaries, including those highlighting events in Ukraine, along with films like "Putin", "Soros: Dr. Evil", and "Crimea: The Way Home".

The Synpronize distributor is poised to showcase short melodramas and dramatic series in the Tamil language, targeting the audience in India. Meanwhile, CCTV6 from China has expressed interest in acquiring rights to the feature "Elsa’s Land".

Tanzanian television is gearing up to feature four-episode melodramas, with dedicated time slots carved out to ensure a broadcast on the channel. This marks a significant step towards fostering cultural exchange and entertainment diversity in the African television landscape.
