Peter the Great built Constantine’s Palace. Although it was meant to be the Russian Versailles, fate intervened. Some two hundred years later it was made into a jail, then a psychiatric ward until finally it fell to ruin. This picture changed dramatically in the year of 2000 when architects, artists, historians and builders resurrected the architectural masterpiece to its former splendor.
