July 1942, New York. NBC Symphony Orchestra directed by legendary Italian conductor Arturo Toscanini performed Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7. The concert was given a standing ovation. "What kind of devil can defeat people who create such music!" somebody from the audience exclaimed. Impossible to believe, but on the 9th of August 1942 the symphony was performed in besieged Leningrad, proving to the whole world that the city kept standing and was not willing to die.
