Historical drama "Life and Fate", produced by Russia Television and Radio, has been selected into competition at The International Emmy World Television Festival

The 41st International Emmy Awards ceremony will take place in New York City in November 2013.

The The International Emmy World Television Festival and the prestigious Emmy Awards ceremony, rightly considered the television equivalent of the Oscars, will be attended by television industry professionals from around the world. The official festival competition programme consists of the year’s best television content, selected by a professional jury of 600 experts.
Other films produced by TV Channel Russia have been nominated for this prestigious international award in the past.

Nominees in the Best Drama Series and Best TV Movie/Mini-Series categories have included:
2003 – hit series "Law of the Lawless"
2004 – screen adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s "The Idiot"
2005 – war drama "The Cadets"
2006 – screen adaptation of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s "The First Circle"
2008 – romantic drama "A Woman with No Past"

This year the epic historical drama "Life and Fate", based on the eponymous novel by Vasily Grossman and produced by Russia Television and Radio has officially been placed into the competition in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category. The film written by Eduard Volodarskiy and directed by the renowned Russian director Sergey Ursuliak, is dedicated to the seventieth anniversary of the Battle for Stalingrad.
As always, the nominees will be announced on 7 October 2013 at the MIPCOM press conference in Cannes.
