23 May marked the end of one of the largest film markets in the world, Marché du Film, which takes place as part of the Cannes Film Festival in France. This year, it was attended by more than 5,000 companies from 108 countries. The Russian film industry was represented by the RUSSIAN CINEMA stand, where SOVTELEEXPORT, the distributor of Russia Television and Radio content, once again presented their latest catalogue.

As part of its promotional package, SOVTELEEXPORT presented Gleb Orlov's new film "The Iron Ivan". According to head of international sales Maria Dorokhina, the film has garnered considerable interest among buyers from the UK, US, China, Japan, South Korea, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Italy. The company also received a bid from Chinese distributors for a package of feature-length narrative films and military-themed films. Negotiations regarding the catalogue of films produced by Russia Television and Radio are also under way with buyers from Switzerland, South Korea and Iran. In addition, there is noted a growing interest in Russian content from VOD platforms (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon).
