The 1941 Soviet documentary The Crushing Defeat of the German Troops near Moscow displays a first-hand look at the Battle of Moscow. Cameramen risked their lives capturing unique footage of the bloody conflict. Upon personal request from President Roosevelt, the film was sent to the United States where it would garner praise from Charlie Chaplin and an Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
